Types of Membership with the American Fair Credit Council

Assisting consumers in the debt settlement process, Global Client Solutions has provided savings programming and account management services since 2003. Complementing its work, Global Client Solutions is a member of the American Fair Credit Council (AFCC).

Since its inception in 2011, the AFCC has worked to establish a consumer credit industry that fully adheres to the various Federal Trade Commission guidelines. The organization does this in an effort to create a fair system for consumers who are carrying large debts. The AFCC would not be able to work toward this standard without the help of its members. Entities that work within the debt settlement industry may join the organization in one of several member accreditation categories:

Vendor
Companies that serve debt settlement organizations by supplying marketing services or software may become Vendor members of the AFCC. With membership, these organizations receive such benefits as access to exclusive workshops and better visibility among other member companies.

Affiliate
Companies seeking to become Affiliate members of the AFCC must work with back-end member organizations and provide front-end services to them. To obtain this type of membership, entities must currently work with one or more AFCC-member companies and provide company names during the application process.

Industry Alliance
The AFCC’s Industry Alliance members must work directly with other organizations in the debt relief sector while upholding the council’s standards in the process. Examples of applicable entities include debt collection firms, debt purchasers, and settlement software providers, among others.
